Biography

Vanessa Calcano-Thomas is an attorney at the Sanchez Law Group, P.A. and her work focuses on family law and civil litigation. Mrs. Calcano-Thomas was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and was raised in Orlando, Florida where she continues to reside with her husband and three children.

Mrs. Calcano-Thomas has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree from Florida A&M University College of Law.

Prior to joining the law firm, Mrs. Calcano-Thomas worked in the private sector litigating family law cases consisting of divorces, child support, paternity, injunction, custody, and modification of final judgments. Additionally, for the first two and a half years of her legal career, Mrs. Calcano-Thomas served as an Assistant Regional Counsel in Orange County Florida where she practiced juvenile dependency law representing indigent parents against allegations of child abuse in over 400 cases brought by the Department of Children and Families. Mrs. Calcano-Thomas works diligently to ensure each of her clients receives quality legal representation and successful outcomes in each case.

Mrs. Calcano-Thomas also contributes to the community as an Adjunct Professor at Valencia College teaching Business Law since the fall of 2016.
